Two For One Foiled Backgrounds!

Hi all, It's Jen here and I'm back with some more inspiration using products from the latest release.
Did you know that you can hot foil using letterpress dies? I didn't until recently. What a fun way to stretch your supplies!
This month I tried out the hot foiling technique and was even able to use up the scrap foil to make a second card.
Read on to find out how!
I began by cutting 2 US A2 card panels one from white cardstock the other from black. Then using a hot foil system and a piece of rainbow foil, I foiled the Tulip Mix Background Impress-ion Press + Foil Plate – LDRS Creative onto the white panel. This will give you the positive image of the design.
But her's the fun part! When you peel and reveal your design don't throw away the excess foil because you'll be left with the negative image of the design.  Simply place the negative image onto a solid hot foil plate and add another piece of card and you can foil the negative image too! How great is that, two for one backgrounds and zero waste!
I decided to foil the negative onto the black card panel.
To turn these backgrounds into cards I cut a circle from the panel using the smaller of the Delicate Stitches Scalloped Circle Dies – LDRS Creative, to create an aperture. Then cut the same scalloped circle twice more from white and once from gold mirror cardstock and stacked them together. The gold scalloped frame was inlayed into the aperture and adhered to a black side fold A2 card base with foam tape. For the sentiment I die cut the word "Love" from the Simply Word Dies – LDRS Creative from the same mirror gold card and again stacked it onto 2 layers of white. I then glued it to a white shadow layer and placed into the aperture. The gold heat embossed sentiment was taken from an older set called Everyday Sayings 4x8 Stamp Set – LDRS Creative. I gently trimmed out the word "sending" from the sentiment "Sending big hugs", to make my own custom greeting. This doesn't hurt the stamp and it can still be used as intended in the future. I added 3 gold pearls below the sentiment and these cards were completed!
I just love how these turned out!
Catch you all again soon!
